A note on the passing of Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks
We at the Center for the Study of Religion and Conflict were saddened to learn of the recent passing of Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks. He was a prolific scholar, a member of the House of Lords, an advisor to political leaders, and a public intellectual of global stature. Most of all, he exemplified what it means to be called rabbi—teacher—someone who shared his wisdom, insight, and spiritual guidance without limit. As the former chief rabbi in the United Kingdom, he was as much an inspiration for countless Jews as he was for Christians, Muslims, and people of many other faiths and those of no faith at all.
The Center was exceedingly fortunate to be able to co-host a conversation with Rabbi Sacks just months before his passing. You may find the video of that interview below.
We extend our deepest condolences to Rabbi Sacks’s family and all those whose lives he touched. May his memory be a blessing.
