Manbij: Understanding the Syrian Civil War from a Single Town

Join us as warzone journalist Anand Gopal shares the lived impacts of conflict, ISIL, and the US-led coalition on the 100,000 person town of Manbij, Syria.

Gopal is a journalist, sociologist and assistant research professor at the Center on the Future of War and Center for the Study of Religion and Conflict. He received his doctorate from Columbia University and is author of "No Good Men Among the Living: America, the Taliban and the War Through Afghan Eyes," which was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize and National Book Award. Currently, Gopal is researching the conflicts in Iraq and Syria.
