In contrast to violence, peace is perceived as a universal monolith, a singular vision for humanity to realize. Violence, on the other hand, is intensively studied and analyzed across multiple domains. Different types and forms of violence are recognized—political, social, religious, economic, cultural, and environmental—yet do we recognize different modes of peace?
